Cassandra Smith

Cassandra is Chief Operating Officer of CHAF, where she has helped build the organization’s operational capacity, national partnerships, and communications and engagement functions as it establishes a new national platform for community housing acquisition.

Cassandra brings nearly a decade of experience in housing, spanning public policy, real estate, government relations, and community housing investment. She has held a leadership role with the BC Rental Protection Fund, supporting the delivery and growth of Canada’s first rental acquisition fund of its kind. She previously served as Director of Policy & Research at the Urban Development Institute, where she worked across government and industry to develop practical, solutions-oriented responses to housing supply and affordability challenges.
